With over 700 islands and 2000 cays to choose from, the Bahamas is not short of dream like beaches. So if you are looking for a trip drenched in sun, eating something seriously fresh from the bright blue seas and loosing the afternoon to delicious rum cocktails, this is a great place to visit.

BAKERS BAY, on the island of Great Guana Cay

If your trip to the Bahamas coincides with lobster season you are in for a treat.  Hire a boat and guide then head into the sea to catch your own dinner.  If you don’t fancy getting wet, head to the local beach restaurant to sample that days lively catch.

Local Delicacies

If you have never tried Conch here is the place to do it.  I tried it raw straight from the sea, I cant say I am a fan but it was an experience.


Local Drink

Rum and lashings of it. Neat, on ice or in exotic cocktails with pineapple, ginger and or coconut, truly a delightful way to incur a hangover. The most popular brands are; Cockspur’s Five Star and Mount Gay.

The local beer of choice is Banks
